Uttar Pradesh is the rainbow land where the multi-hued Indian Culture has blossomed from times immemorial. Besides, Barytes and Edalusite are found in the districts of Mirzapur and Sonebhadra. Sand-stone, pebbles, reh, salt punter, marang, sand and other minor minerals are also found in the State.

The principal crops of Uttar Pradesh are Paddy, Wheat, barley, Millet, Maize, Urad (Black Gram), Moong (Green Gram) Arhar etc. The state is universally hailed for its handicrafts like Chikan-work, Embroidery, Zardozi work, wood work, wooden toys and furniture, Clay -toys, carpet weaving, Silk & Brassware work.
